Who are the Church of Christ?
We are individual members of the body of Christ.  The head of the church is Jesus Christ as stated in Ephesians 1:22-23.  Our desire is to be ‘Christians only’ and members of the church our Lord died for.  We do not belong to any denomination, or host organisation, although there are many churches of Christ in the United Kingdom and around the world who are similar.  Each congregation is autonomous and governs itself.  We hold to Christ’s teaching found in the scripture that all Christians are ministers (servants).

We believe

# That the Bible is the inspired Word of God.  In it contains God’s message of hope for you and me.  Therefore, we read the Bible to determine what God’s will is for us.

# In the Scriptures (both Old and New Testaments) in their original writings as fully inspired and trustworthy.

# In one God, eternally existent in three persons - The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

# That God created man in His own image; that man sinned and thereby incurred the penalty of death - physical and spiritual.

# In the bodily resurrection pf the Lord Jesus Christ, His ascension into heaven, His present ministry as our High Priest and His bodily return sometime in the future.

# That those who put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, repent of their sins, confess Him as Lord and are baptised (immersed) for the forgiveness of their sins, are born again and thus become children of God.  In following this, a person is saved and makes a commitment to live each day of his life as a follower of Jesus Christ - a Christian.
